MAR JOHNSON

After 25 years of teaching first graders, this recently retired educator wanted to find something to fill the void. After seeking assistance from a dear friend (Thank you, Francine) who taught me the art of mitten making, my husband and I now spend our time creating MITTENS!

These handmade mittens, recycled from wool sweaters, are washed, preshrunk and felted to provide the perfect protection from the most wintery of weather. Made from either shetland, merino, lamb and boiled wools, each pair is as unique as the person wearing them.

Mittens are a great gift to give to yourself, family or friends. Mittens send the perfect message:

Give someone a warm fuzzy today!

PAM WELCH

And, for the last quarter century, my inner-naturalist has been both educator and student; learning the artistry of basket weaving, stenciling, music and movement, and lampshade design. Now, along with my sister, I have fallen in love with wool!

Through a process, known as Nuno Felting, a technique developed in New South Wales, Australia, I bond silk and woolen fibers by hand to create one-of-a-kind designer scarves.

These scarves are the perfect wardrobe statement and can be used in the traditional sense or as a belt or headpiece. I’ve even heard from a repeat customer that she used one of my scarves as a background for a much -treasured photograph.
